This vintage was purchased from a distillery in Châteauneuf-sur-Charente that acted as intermediary between the grower and Grosperrin. Its true origin lies a few kilometres beyond, on an estate in Brie-sous-Matha, upon clay-limestone terroir, in one of the loveliest corners of the Saintonge wine region — a tranquil village with a viticultural history of almost a thousand years.
